Where is your dream location to live in?
a. Hawaii
b.Paris
c. New york City
d. Las Vegas

Auntie B says Paris

Also, what is ur dream house?
a. A peaceful cottage
b.a romantic boat house
c.a roomy apartment
d. a house next to a dance club

My answer is C. a roomy apartment, but it must be on the top floor of a wonderful older building. A rooftop terrace with a myriad of blooming plants is a nice addition.

Goldie's first --

c. New york City
d. Las Vegas

-- from among those choices, Paris

Also, what is ur dream house?
a. A peaceful cottage
b.a romantic boat house
c.a roomy apartment
d. a house next to a dance club

-- this one’s tricky too, and I think Auntie’s found the best way around it. Given just the basic choices tho, I’ll choose a peaceful cottage.

Nice places to visit but wouldn't want to live there!

A peaceful (large) cottage preferably on a hillside overlooking a lake.

1. What is your favorite piece of clothing you wear when being comfortable is more important than anything else?

Slacks with an elastic waistband and a T-shirt.

2. Your Beau decides to serenade you from below your balcony, what should he sing?

Kiss me each morning for a million years....not sure of the title but that's the first line of the song.

3. What shouldn't he sing?

I'm a poor, poor farmer...

4. Is Simon Cowell sexy, yes or no?

I'm sure he has his moments.

5. Do you put salt & pepper on your food, automatically before tasting it first?

Just on eggs.

1. What is your favorite piece of clothing you wear when being comfortable is more important than anything else?
If anything...jeans!
2. Your Beau decides to serenade you from below your balcony, what should he sing?

Can't think about this. I'm a musical enciclopedy, couldn't possibly stop at one song, reagardless of the question.

3. What shouldn't he sing?

Or about this !

4. Is Simon Cowell sexy, yes or no?

Who is Simon Cowell?

5. Do you put salt & pepper on your food, automatically before tasting it first?

Oh yeah! When it comes to this, no food has enough spices.

Qsilv always teaches me words. I went for CAMBRIC and saw it's a light cotton called BATISTE elsewhere.
Qsilv, you are a walking dictionary. Thanks

369. 28 Mar 2010 05:01

Baldur

'Cambric' is the more often used word up here in the US, though if some used 'Batiste' it would be understood

polenta

thanks Baldur.
I remember when I was a young girl, we bought cloth and went to a dressmaker to have our clothes made and then we knew the names of many materials. Now girls don't know the names of materials and they have never even stepped into a dressmaker's house!!!!!!!!

On second thoughts.... it's not that I know many names for fabrics in English. Probably neither so many in Spanish either. I can't believe where all this knowledge has gone!!! LOL
Maybe.... flannel, tweed, cotton, wool, silk, pollyesther, viscose, gabardine, tartan..............and now CAMBRIC!!!!!!!!!
LOL LOL LOL

....oh, fabric's fun!

Girls may not go to dressmakers or mantua-makers much anymore, but there are plenty of women who sew and quilt and do cloth-based crafts.

Any fabric store from JoAnn's to NewToto will show you hundreds of different weaves, but here are Q's faves--

batiste, bombazine, bouclé, broadcloth, brocade, cambric, chambray, chenille, chiffon, corduroy, crêpe, damask, denim, felt, flannel, gabardine, georgette, jacquard, jersey, lamé, loden, matelassé, mohair, moire, muslin, organza, paisley, pashmina, pique, plissé, pongee, satin, serge, shantung, taffeta, tricot, tulle, tweed, velour, velvet, velveteen, worsted

hmmm... that was interesting to compile... I had no idea how many it'd turn out to be!
Lots of wool and silk in there... plenty of cotton, surprisingly little linen..
I should add leather; tho it's not a weave it's a 'fabric' I do love.

You both are living encyclopedias...........................................
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baldur got Q on one tho.... what the dickens is "orleans"?

The others just aren't on my favorites...

The more I read on this forum, the more I enjoy discovering people's hobbies and passions. Let alone personality (think I got over this long time ago)! Don't think I ever stopped to think about how many types of fabraic they are. Well, partially because I'm more of a nature's fan , than of clothes. They're beautiful, but sometimes I really wish I wouldn't have to mind them so much!

pthpthtphththhhh, Baldur.... name the ones you really love! On your sofas, tables, bed, bod...
