I'm thinking solo might've taken another dog-sitting job and doesn't have internet access. |

Yes, Dragon, that's what I mean about how some noises don't bother me at all, but the ones that do make me want to crawl right out of my skin. They cause a sort of severe anxiety for me or something. When I worked at the vet all those years ago, the dogs barking didn't really bother me either unless it was of the high-pitched variety. But a screetching bird was unbearable. |

I did my practicum in a bird hospital. While I was there they had an African Grey parrot boarding. He would mimic a dripping faucet quite convincingly and he learned to mimic the sound that our phones made when they were on hold. I was constantly hearing that noise and wondering if I'd left someone on hold and forgotten or if it was the bird. |

Time for sleep but before the sleep fairies carry me away ... ah Robin, thanks for venting. Now it's my turn! But before I go on with my silly story, doesn't Robin's city have nuisance animal ordinances? Our city has them and from all appearances it will not be long before I put one to use and file a complaint. |

Marius, you ave my sympathies with the nuisance dog, and moreso with the nuisance neighbors. Our homes should be peaceful and our neighborhoods harmonious and it's really horrible when both of those things are disrupted by one lousy neighbor. Been there, done that. Remind me and I will tell you a story someday abou tthe neighbor from hell. |

marius, here's a link to a site with dog bark control. I've put the link for a particular product which is humane and which you can use yourself without your neighbours even knowing. It's a little birdhouse, inside it has an ultrasonic sound emiter which is triggered by the sound of barking. Dogs don't like this sound but it doesn't hurt them. They learn (depending on the intelligence of the dog) that the irritating sound goes off when they bark and so they stop yapping. The best part is that it humans can't hear it and they've disguised it as something pretty someone might just have in their yard. |

hehehe Baldur! The first time marius went to talk to neighbors, spouse was visiting neighbor Dave and saw me going to the dreaded place. When spouse came home, he said, "WHAT did you do?" I told him the old lady who answered the door kept repeating, "It's my daughter's dog." Finally I realized that not only had the dog's yapping killed some of MY brain cells, it had killed many of the old lady's too! So I started repeating, "Thank you for bringing the dog in! I sure appreciate that you are bringing the dog in." She did. |

Well, there certainly are some breeds that are just plain stupid, and others that are incredibly hard to train, though usually the latter are because they're very smart and stubborn and know what they can get away with. There are defintely dogs and cats with neuroses. I've met many a dog with separation anxiety and whatnot. These problems can often be fixed with special training and sometimes medications. My own bratty cat is on a behaviour modifier occasionally for what I call his excessive personality disorder (though that's just my name for his issues). |

You shouldn't taser dogs! Schock colors alone should be illegal, you know I'm gonna write a letter to the president about it, just wish I knew his adress. Washing, D.C something Cherrygrove.... I don't know |
