I was joking:). Chloriphilla will pick up the baton soon enough. She has another challenge going so if you leave a you won post on one of her pics she may even see it before Sunday.

Oh yeah - her tree thing....

Qsilv

hmmm.... skulls.... (wanders off... rubbing hands..)

wondering about doing Variations of Themes by Charles Burchfield for that... You know his stuff, surely? Or had he fallen off the radar before you started studying artists?

chelydra

I think I need to draw a skull or two now...

Not familiar with him. Will look him up.

You have treat in store, especially if you let him by-pass your too-highly-evolved artistic intellect and reach your Inner Adolescent

Just remembered I promised to go home and wash some dishes I'm told I left lying around. So now my megalomania is well and truly fading out - until next time...

Brava Chlorophilla!

Five: I think "you pit slot of passion" is the most delightful epithet I've encountered in ages.

Chelydra: This has been great fun just as a spectator - possibly even educational. I love your Crackpot Theory about cathedrals as the stone substitute for forests and hope you will enter me on the rolls as a co-crackpot. Thanks for your pictures, everybody!

Omigosh! I just re-read message 183, in which our winner dropped out of contention. I glanced at it before but obviously was not paying attention.

Now what!?

Since it has also come to my notice that our beloved and worthy clorophilla is currently up to her ears in managing another on-going challenge or two, and probably will have to give them her full attention on her return from her congress (what sort of congress? is that a euphemism??), this is my solution:

1. Clorophilla will come back and see that, due to my having ignored her wish to drop out, she was still the victor over incredibly strong competitors. And I would do the same again, in case there's any question of second thoughts. I do love her tree, and I do feel it's most in tune of all individual pictures with my notion of Mild Cubism.

2. Nevertheless, it seems right to me that the overall quantity and quality of an artist's submissions should be a consideration.

3. It is absolutely impossible (once that becomes a factor) for me to choose between Danila and five. Five's submissions are exquisite and refined. Danila's submissions are bold and raw and wild.

4. Therefore, for purposes of handing on the Mugdots Drawing Challenge torch, it's a tie. I don't know if I'm allowed to declare a tie or not, but that's what I'm doing. (I could probably find a precedent somewhere in the previous fifty-four Mugdots challenges, but am too sleepy and still have to go wash those dirty dishes I left in the kitchen before I can take a nap then have to go teach my long-suffering writing class.)

5. It's now up to danila and five to sort out their ideas about the next challenge. Perhaps Ms Benign Presence (Qsliv) can be of assistance in this if there's a deadlock. (It's only fair that clorophilla should decide if by any chance there's still no agreed-upon new challenge by Sunday or Monday, but I don't think it'll come to that.)

So NOW my work here is over and I shall fade into the woodwork for a while.

Congratulations and thanks to all who helped make this work out okay after a very shaky start.

In Item #2 above, I should have added that whether a contestant has dropped out should also be a factor.

Normal, I'll be delighted to crack pots together with you any time on any subject.

Come to think of it, Crackpot Theories might be a fine title for the new (permanently active if it catches on) forum thread (or series of threads).

Thanks Chelydra..I'm honored just to be among all of you..Congratulations to Five, Chlorophilla..to every one...Thanks again Chelydra for your definitions/descriptions on my pic. This Challenge has been very Tailored for me, as I simply did what I like mostly, and gave me inspiration through the many beautiful pic. and your description of Mild Cubism Meaning/Intepretation.
Thanks to your, Clorophilla and Qsilv words, discussions, my fantasy grew up nourished by all of you.
I simply couldn't guide any Challenge..I'm too busy in my work, and TD, at night, or in weekend, which for me is Friday and Saturday, between work I'm forced to continue after working office hours, is like a dream, consoling and nourishing my soul, keeping me among friends...I just love to draw in TD, and eventually join you all like in this occasion..which I'd like to continue
if the challenge is " TALKING TO ME", THEREFORE, please Five, You take the
next Challenge, hopefully I'll follow you...
Thanks again to every one, especially you Chelydra..for having opened my horizon ...

Hi Chelidra, I'm back just to discover this... Thanks you for your wonderful words about my work, I feel myself so inadequate to this challenge, not understanding yet what mild cubism could be, and very impressed for the skilled beauty of Qsilv, Five and Danila pics (that I think deserve far more than mine)!
So I'm happy to see that Five is in charge now for the next challenge, and can't wait to join the play. I want to add anyway about my tree that I tried to draw something intuitively and apart of its "righteness" or not I enjoyed very much to do it... Chelydra I have to be really grateful to you bc you push me beyond my usual frames and patterns of drawing into something really new and very much more creative for myself!
