I'm stuck for another hour++ yet at my business but suddenly just HAD to have a look... and you've brought me such a huge grin.......!
Can any of you tell me what you're finding the hardest part? easiest? most fun?
Lynnspotter! That's a really eye-opening collection, and this seems like a perfect place to post it. Thanks so much for contributing it here.

This is a fantastic challenge,Q. What a way to learn!
The hardest part is choosing another category ... I took the easiest route and used faithful old 'animals'.

hiya, Qsilv.. and thanks again for a great challenge !
Since you asked what people found the hardest part (or easiest, most fun) I did one yesterday that you probably missed - it was based on your 'Child of Light'.
One of the reasons I used the colours I did (mainly blue, with black eyes), was that I have always objected to the recent ThinkDraw limitation to blue (or green/gray) eyes and pink or tanned (golden) faces - which is all you get in Avatars - where are brown/black face backgrounds and brown/black eyes ??
I realised, after I submitted it, that it was a terrible picture (to my mind), even though it took me a couple of hours.
The reason why I deleted it, though, was that I hadn't enjoyed creating it AT ALL - it wasn't something I 'saw' or wanted to recreate, it was just something I could do.. [no, don't misunderstand me, I'm not talking about my ability to copy your pic here]
..and because I know I'm pretty good (technically) with TD, I really wouldn't want to do someone's picture better than they'd done, just to show how good I am.
So, apologies, but I don't think I'll submit anything else to this challenge - I'm REALLY happy to accept inspiration from a pic someone else has done (and that is just wonderful !), but this close copying just isn't for me.
Having said all that (and apolgies for the verbosity).. I might always have a try at a pic that I love and that inspires me !

pff... marg -- I'll try to accept your judgment with what grace I can muster, of course. But for the record, I feel an acute pang that I never even got to see what the mechanical adjustments had wrought!
This is not about showing how much better/worse one can do!
This is like tinkering with a food recipe to discover what happens!
In an odd way, it's like finding more time! ;>

Go on, marg ... find one that inspires you and have a go. It won't be better or worse, just different.

QSilv: Easy part....the composition has already been worked out. Hard part .... getting the same feel with different colors and hard/soft quality to the edges. Annoyance: Losing a drawing twice ... I was copying Grahamme's Dorothy in avatars and in the same place the drawing blitzed out twice, I think there must be a limit to the number of pieces one can use in one drawing and I was using tons of those silver spoons. Fun: its really interesting to see the same picture grow from entirely different pieces, like any copying, you learn from the limitations. It's a good exercise.

Five, you are showing how good you are with this Seeing Double challenge.
.
As for the number of pieces, I wonder if someone knows or if Rachel could tell us about it . It would be good to know.

Finally understand why I was seeing double! This seems like a contest of champions, far beyond my level of competence. I'm really enjoying your efforts and especially like the idea of revisiting your own, such as Awr's NIGHT BUS. And while I knew she did it with my birthday greeting, I did not realize that Lynn was echoing ALL the folks she made birthday pictures for - what a fun idea.

maddy, yep.
Normal & everyone -- this is not a CONTEST... it's not about champions...
it's just a personal challenge to see some of what can be done.
yeah I'll select someone to carry on the next one, but not based on how "great" their drawing skills are!
