It's great to see more entries... and so many people having fun with this! We have some lovely doodles and some stunning pictures.... good on you, everybody!

Here's another blue and orange:

While I was drawing this, I was amazed at how the colours in the bird intensified when I started to add the orange background... all this colour theory stuff really works!! Have a look at the playback if you're interested!

Normal, your comments about how you've seen colour made me laugh! As a child, I was convinced that pink and purple were made for each other, too! Of course, they are... they're just not complementary!

It is interesting to learn how the colour combinations do work, though, because then you can start to use them with some intent.

I'm fascinated by your remarks about colours and music. Is there any way you could tell us more about it in terms that those of us who are musically challenged could understand? I'd love to know more!

this album cover of Fabrizio de Andrè is a great exemple of use of complementary colours!

Two sets of complementaries that match up the color wheel with the zodiac.

Mum23 - the musical tones start around the wheel with C on red.

Just for fun, I'll throw in the zodiac too. So Red, Yellow, Blue = C (Aries), E (Leo), G# (Sagittarius). At the risk of boring you terminally - the equidistant primaries (or any comparable 3) are the equivalent of two major thirds. The major chord that sounds "right" to our ears is formed of ONE major third with a MINOR third (one fewer tone distant) on top.

Since I'm a Virgo, I find this fascinating, but most folks are rolling their eyes!
