Would that be life before Christ or life in British Columbia?
Either way, good suggestion.

Right! So that's either a cave woman, making soup from the left-overs ... or a portrait of my late aunty Flo.

Laitha's modes of transport gets my vote, although it may be because that was the assignment in my very first school art class at age six with a wildly eccentric ex-boxer, my teacher for most of the next twelve years. I consistently got zeroes for bad behavior, as did just about everyone in his violently unruly classroom, but we were the best of friends after school, and later drinking buddies. I still remember the most peculiar gentleman I ever seen showing up and writing "transportation" on the blackboard when none of us had ever seen a word of more than one syllable. That was also our introduction to the concept of general categories of things, not just the names of specific things, so it was quite a challenging day! Maybe it'll work better here than it did there.

i feel we should have a theme that is general to all,let us say songs and titles,or t v shows etc are very different in different countries,so what i feel is if all the r mentioned are showcased we may not enjoy the are bcoz of cultural difference,
so i suggest say

1)modes of transport

2)how to protect (environment,wildlife,)

3)theme special

4)last but not the least my fav

a is for apple,b is for ball and so on,

'Life BC' and/or 'Modes of Transport' could bring out some interesting ideas.

The idea of TV shows sounded trite at first but the more I imagine actually responding to it, the richer and deeper it gets.

Seeing Coho's whale in the beach showcase makes me think that whales (and whaling) would be a great subject, for a drawing challenge, but perhaps even for a showcase too. And it's timely, given the Obama administration's craven efforts to end the debate by giving the rogue whaling nations (led by Japan) everything they want at he IWC. Meanwhile, the heroic intervention of the Sea Shepherd navy is alone in upholding the rule of law on the high seas. Of course if we start opening up showcases to troubling controversies, we'll set a precedent and eventually have to deal with nuclear power, terrorism, images of Mohammed, who knows what. (Hmmm. Images of Mohammed. Cartoons in the current showcase... I wonder if I'm crazy enough to risk my life for my principles?)

... of course that idea (above) would probably risk other lives even if I appended my own name and address to such a cartoon, so it's probably not such a great idea.

Yeah, agreed, Q. By the way I finally replied to your Morandi remark (on five page).

Cartoons? TD with all of the showcase subjects on offer we are asked to draw Loony Tunes...I know this will probably appeal to the younger members, but quite frankly you have left me stumped with this one!

By definition a cartoon represents a caricature or hand drawn representation, so realistically Cartoon covers virtually any subject...Sooo in retrospect I take it all back it's all to do with the interpretation.
