puzzler.. you're probably right to be worried - the pic I've got in the December Top 5 is one I did on New Year's Day (and trust me, I know it was WELL after midnight !), but having pictures appear when you haven't even been near the PC.. well !

That's the answer Qsilv! I've slipped through time somehow - beam me up Scotty!

I live in Australia, so all of my things are back dated, because I am already ahead of the people in other parts of the world. This forum for example, my comments say the came in today (but for people in america, its actually tomorrow, however "comment added tomorrow at 3am" would be confusing, i guess )
As for who rated the picture... i feel u will not get an honest rating from people if they feel they will lose their annonymity. It will force people to vote 5 or not vote at all if they know people can see what they voted, because they will then upset the person and get personally attacked if others feel it was unfair. I know getting good votes is very important to people, and there have been lots of threads on here about this, but if you are going to start labelling the voter, with their vote (while it might stop the 1 vote bandits) you may as well have a "do you like the picture? YES or NO" because noone will ever vote less than a 5, and it becomes a popularity contest then, on who can get the most votes, not a share art and see who feels what about it website.
I have just looked at all the different threads on the whole voting thing, and how to "fix" it, but surely people have the right to vote how they feel, otherwise the only way to "fix" it is to remove the votes, and just people post pictures for the love of posting pictures, and who cares what others think of it. or why they gave it a 4 not a 5, or who it was who ruined my chances of top 5 because i got 55 5's and 1 3
*shrug*

Exactly my own sentiments, Ernie.

You summed it up pretty well, Ernie..

.. except, when you spend a LOT of time on a picture and you're happy with it, it's awfully nice to have other people rate it highly and have your moment of fame in the Top 5

(well.. I've been lucky to scrape in twice now, and I love it - sorry if that just seems self-centred)

As I'm sure I've said somewhere else - there is nothing wrong with being proud of your achievements.

Puzzler's right marg, there's nothing self-centered about it at all. When I got 1 in the top 5 I was showing everybody, even the people who don't have clue what TD is. You should be really proud when you get in there, because there's so much really good art of here.

Qsilv

Certainly people should "have the right to vote how they feel"

-- only with the system skewed the way it is now, that's more of a veto than an equal vote.

(equal shrug --and a quiet smile) I love TD anyhow.
