Thank you lesley_gene for passing me the baton and giving me the opportunity to do this.

As some of you know, my whole life has been effected by dance.
And I've noticed that there are so many dancers' pics at TD so not only as the challenge but I want to create the gallery for it.
(Normal, I've found your challenge 'dance' back in March 2010. Unfortunately, it doesn't say it on the topic so I'm re-creating it. Please forgive me. )

This challenge is about "dancers".

They can be both dance movements and portraits of your favorite dancers.

Both new and old pics are welcome.
(I can post sooo many from the past but will wait a bit for authors to do so....)

This will end on July 10th (ET) and the winner will be announce on the next day.

(smiles) brilliant theme... fun!

um... hanging? I once tried drawing a huge screen of dancers for a ballet teacher from photos we took together of people she posed for the occasion. She found nothing but fault with them... apparently the precision of angle is a highly forced thing that matters intensely, and I just don't "see" it. (She wasn't very impressed with Michaelangelo's stuff either... lol)

Q, gosh, I'm sorry about what happened btwn you and the ballet teacher.
That teacher is sooo typical one.
(...envy the teacher... I'd LOVE to have the picture~~~!)

Ballet is about precision before artistry.
Ballet is often nothing but demanding...
Ballet can go so wrong if you'd forget the fact that it's the tool of the art form, and pursuit only techniques.

And that's one of my biggest reasons why I once quit ballet.

Q, your experience (your ballet teacher?) must have given you horrible feelings about ballet.
I still (sadly) see some ballet teachers/dancers like yours.

But, of course, there are so many artistic people there too!

I've truly started enjoying ballet at late 30s of age.
(What brought me back to ballet is Jorge Jonn.
Why could I continue dancing without pure joy? Because the sacrifices were too tremendous to give up!)
