I'm friends with some local bands. When you're older - you'll find that the big rock shows are cool - but let me tell you something. Sitting in a lounge or small venue watching a good local band and having them come sit with YOU between sets is the coolest thing EVER!

You are so right Ron, there's nothing like see a live show at a small bar and seeing how excited the crowd gets. It's nice to be able to buy cd's directly from them too and they'll usually chat a bit and sign it for you if you ask.

Hey Dragon: I got through Free Bird on Guitar Hero (Original, I think) for PS2. But I was on "Medium" and my nephew was DONE on Expert. I never even tried "Hard"... Alas...

We have Rockband, I love to rock out on the drums. I'm only just on Medium now, but we've only had the game for a couple months. I think the hardest one I've done was Rockaway Beach by the Ramones (Hope I got that right)

I can't bring myself to shell out the bucks for Rock Band. I have a PS at home but my nephew has a PS2. If we both had the same console and I could give it to him when I tired of it then maybe... But for a middle-aged man to buy this for himself and to sit alone in my basement banging on plastic pads to silence (headphones) would be beyond pathetic

Yes, I suppose it really is kind of a group thing. We havn't regretted buying it for a second though. It's definitly our favorite game.

I'm just a great listener and lover of music but my father played the guitar and my mother's great uncle was the man behind Fender guitars, her maiden name is Fender but we only found out about the connection two years ago at the family reunion.
She always dated and hung out with "Rock Stars." She was a hippy for a while, She got over it and I never felt the need to go that way but she has some wild stories....Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, even Kris Kristofferson, She didn't date them just met them and hung out.
She's a total square now & doesn't like to talk about it. I think it's great fun.

I went to the same high school as Bob Dylan. however ,I was too far behind to know him.His younger brother was 2 yrs behind me.Only knew him from piano recitals. We had the same teacher. My home town used to be known for it's largest open pit iron ore mine. Now it's the place where Bob Dylan grew up! Priorities I guess.

Ooo ,almost forgot, after I went off to college, my parents bought a house across the street from his parents. When I was in gradeschool, we used to cut across his back yard to gt to school. His folks had a corner lot. Hibbing,Mn is a small town in No. Minn. Nothing fancy.
