I was invited to a show of such last night, it sure was fun. If I have a change to go again I will, it was a good ladies night out. There were 6 of us in all that knew each other. The outfits are way too expensive to buy for most of us. I was wondering if others have gone to this? Some of the dancing we saw was just beautiful. There was an 81 year old dancer that looks like she was much younger, we were all shocked when we were told her age.

I forgot to add this: One of the girls with us brought her sketch pad with her and kept drawing the dancers the whole time. I would of liked to have had some photos to bring back with me. They sure would make wonderful drawings here.

I have a friend who is almost 50, who started belly dancing about 5 years ago. She is a physical therspist who sits alot because she specializes in hands only. For years she was always dieting to lose weight, only to put it back on again. So she started belly dancing, and lost her 30 lbs. Since she started, she has kept the weight off and of course still dances and performs. Around here belly dancing and pole dancing are very popular at the senior centers. Good for muscles and strength building. But it is fun to watch also!

I don't have any weight to lose, have to see that I'm able to keep it on and than some before I would do something like this. I'd like to learn it somethings can be done without exercising to the point of losing weight.

well alot of women in shape do it for strength. Draw a belly dancer with the cookie in candy, as you did the mermaid! Just a suggestion!

Could you perhaps copy your friends drawing?

Login I didn't keep up with what she was drawing since she probably sees them as private. She isn't a friend she is a relative of a friend of mine so I usually only see her on the holidays. I can always take pictures off the net, I just don't feel like drawing right now especially since I just lost, yesterday, a drawing I spent most of the day on. I only mentioned this because it was fun and thought someone would like the drawing subject.

Jshundo, oh yah that's a good one. This drawing

is actually a belly dancer but the sleeve on the outfit is in the way of the part where her stomach would show.
