I saw it yesterday, and LOVED it. It's the kind of garden I have been striving for but it does not happen naturally, takes a lot of work. I will never arrive, - my life is nothing but a process. Some other interesting videos on there, too.

Many, many thanks for all the cards and cakes and birthday greetings! My birthday lasted a whole week, and might not be over with yet. I hope I thanked everyone personally, but just in case, I'm saying it again - Thanks TD friends!

Baldur

Baldur is very tired but not dead.
On the plus side my snow peas have sprouted and are about 8" tall.
On the negative side Dr. Evil, an amputee I take out every single day to either his appointments or just out for coffee is truly getting on my nerves.

This is where Baldur stands right now.

It was announced on the local news this evening that a developer in nearby Seekonk,Massachusetts is promoting a new neighborhood of homes (currently unbuilt) based on the book and TV series 'Game of Thrones'.
The development is called 'Hammerfell' and the road is called Lannister Drive.
That seemed interesting at first, but the homes are all projected to be in the Colonial style. Prospective purchasers are allowed to select paint colors and other such details, but by and far this place will have no connection with 'Game of Thrones' beyond its name.
Why is this news? apparently social media is all abuzz on the topic.

Social media. It seems to be the foundation of modern education. I shudder to think where that is leading.

So there you are! I was beginning to wonder what happened to you! Seems to me it was middle of February the last time you were on here. Welcome back Baldur!

So where is the host of Radio Baldur? I hope he is well, and his appropriate others? Have Hammerfell and Dr Evil got him down? We miss you on here, Baldur. We need updates from Boughbreak. You are the anchor here on TD.
Dish.

Baldur is at a loss for words, but is otherwise well.
Thank you for all the concern and kind thoughts

We are nearly into December and so far there's no snow down here near the lake. May the Force continue to be with us! This is my kind of winter weather. It's bad enough that the days are so short - we do not need the cold! Only one more month and the days will be lengthening. It always helps to shed more light on the situation! Also, Christmas and all it's pressures will be in the past. I always feel relieved by that. In the meantime, let's try to enjoy the season of festivals. There is usually at least a little pleasure. Next week I'll attend a seasonal concert. On the Day I'll probably be visiting relatives again, and that'll be good. One thing I really like about the 21st century is that I can order gifts online and they will be delivered. No shopping, no wrapping, no muss, no fuss!!! It's a treat.

I always thought there should be a like button here. Though I am not drawing much, I like to check in occasionally and see what everyone else is up to. Thanks Lizzi for your update. I have enjoyed a warm and beautiful fall here as well. It has changed to a cold rain today though. I will never complain about rain as I much prefer it to drought. Thanksgiving was a nice (short ) trip spent with family, and included all the usual carb laden fattening foods. I don't have many plans for Christmas. The older I get the more I like it that way. Maybe a meal here and there with family, and I'm thinking about treats (fresh apple cakes, yummy), to cook for neighbors and friends. I am going to an open house at the local community college this afternoon to see what their art classes have available for sale for the season. Hope you all are enjoying your holidays!

So nice to hear from you, McDrawn! I do wish we could see more of your art, but at least you are still around. We still have not seen a snowflake land on the ground. It's my kind of winter.

Did anyone else notice -
In November Top 5, there is no New Artist category?

Channel Baldur seems for a variety of reasons to be the place to tell you all how wonderful you are, as individuals and as a magical group.

As a stocking-stuffer, my short story for this year --

Play Doh Angels

Dang car gave out in the desert, late at night, at the end of our vacation when we were nearly broke, tired, just wanted to get home, clean up, feed the kids and get some sleep before work next morning.

Cars were streaming by but the only one who stopped was this strange character. We clearly told him all we had left between us was about $39 AND we were going to need more gas to get all the way into LA.

He stayed cheerful, woke up the owner of a local garage, got the parts & borrowed their tools, and let us sleep in his truck bed for a couple hours while he did the repair (because our car was going to be up on a tilt, and on the ground was an invitation to snakes 'n' scorpions and such).

When we woke up we discovered his small son sleeping there too, younger than D, with a little bag of clothes, a blanket and some food. No toys.

We gave them every penny we had --and D's Play Doh.

(No, D was NOT amused but hey WE could buy more the next day after hitting our bank... and yes our gasoline lasted... a bit like the Hanukkah Oil miracle...)

Angels... angels all around...
