What a wonderful place. Is it fresh or salt water. You are so lucky to be able to enjoy such beauty.

Thanks for the heads up, AF. I don't do FB, but will look on my daughter's account. In MUCH younger days, I wanted to learn skiing, sailing and mountain climbing. Did the climbing once and after dangling between two rock walls swinging back & forth, decided it was not for me! Got to sail a boy friend's Lightning in a Chicago harbor once. But enjoyed the mountains on skis for many years. Nowadays, my knee barely makes it up & down my 2 flights of stairs from car to condo! Great memories, however.

Lake Perris is fresh water and my favorite place for hiking & rock climbing. The fact that this beautiful area is only a 7 min. drive from my front door makes it convenient.

Wow! You can even walk there. I love hiking, did a bit but was already on the wrong side of ageing. Then my husband had two hip replacements and that stop us in our tracks. Don't know why I had to land in a spot on earth where there is nothing!!!! (but crime). Where we used to do the fun walk thing, four hikers was attacked and robbed of all they had with them, even there shoes. You really are blessed. Where does the water came from? rivers?

That is sad news to hear about your hiking area, Lolla. Lesley & I are very fortunate to live near Lake Perris. Hope that our health continues to allow us this exercise opportunity. The area is a natural basin that was damned in the 70's.

Hi AF, Glad you have great hiking places nearby. I am not much of a hiker, but my son goes hiking all the time...he lives in NH and hikes the White Mountains...I think he has done all the Presidents at least once. I clicked on your URL and it takes me to FACEBOOK and says OOPS, etc. I do not have a Facebook account so that is probably the problem. It says to check back later, so will do that.

I just took a look at Hiking and Climbing@Lake Perris, Ca. Beautiful place!! I clicked on Big Rock and saw some cool iguanas. I like lizards. I use to camp back in the 70's. Loved it! Camped on the sand dunes in Prince Edward Island. The provincial park we wanted to go to was full so we hopped a fence with some gear and went up on the dunes....
