Vinatge can be anything from any time period from the past, including a person, place, object or style.

If only I could draw Marg, she would be a perfect subject

Just recently visited the Charleston city Museum. At the end they have a case with rotating items and were featuring donations from the 70s. I have tried twice today to recreate the lime green polyester pant suit and thrown them both out. A vintage sight to behold.

Oh, Chirping - what a brilliant subject..

I was at a bit of a loss, but then I saw puzzler's comment and looked up 'vintage' and it said: 'Characterized by excellence, maturity, and enduring appeal; classic'

I'm rather embarassed (and yep, even blushing) about this quite unexpected praise, but thank you very much puzzler for your lovely comment and I'm determined to try and do a 'vintage' picture for this great challenge !

(..although all that comes to mind is vintage cheese at the moment, but I'm sure my mind will move away from cheese and rodents and come to rest on a suitable subject )

Vintage Baldur is adding a vintage picture from his personal gallery of vintage Fiestaware dinnerware.

Now that is a triple whammy.

Thanks Baldur... I'm not familiar with Fiestaware but I love the shapes and colours. I can see why you collect it

Thanks to everyone who submitted a picture. I'm now closing the challenge and passing the batton to Baldur for his lovely fiesta ware

Oh my, Baldur is blushing over this unexpected honor.
Thank you!
I will think up a new challenge in the next day or so. It needs to be devious.

Baldur

Ok here we go.
The challenge this time is to produce a plein aire style landscape.
You may use any theme
Originally a plein aire painting was done by trekking out into the wild with your easel firmly tucked under your arm. Once you found inspiration you quickly captured the view.
Some were very detailed, others more impressionistic in nature but the main premise was to produce the work, quickly, in one sitting.
No need to take your computer out to the woods for this. Do a plein aire image from memory, Baldur is a rulebreaker.

The winner will be chosen on Sunday May 11th, Mother's Day.
Have fun.
