Both of my sewing machine drawings have missed their chance at Top 5 because someone that wants Top 5 has voted me down and everyone else in their way. Anotherronis picture got voted down and other greats. I knew who you are and today you made me 100% sure I'm right. On top of that kicking me out of my chance of Top 5 kicked that picture off of Top 5 in Showcase. I could kick this person out of Top 5 so they would stop kicking everyone out of that theme. They kicked me out twice and about 4 or more people as well. That isn't winning Top 5 you voted 6 or more people out of your way. I would of had 3 pictures of mine to win most likely now I don't even know if I will have one to do so. I don't have any want to do any pictures because I keep getting kicked down. I don't want to draw again until the voting system changes or this person takes a hike. Sorry if this angers anyone but I'm not a doormat to let someone keep kicking me.

Correction my second sewing machine got kicked out of top 5 when someone voted a 4 on everyone to get their picture back up in top 5 of showcase. Still this person has kicked out a lot of people to stay with in the top 5.

This person mentioned in post 2 is talking about the person that kicked people out of top 5 position not the person that rotated all of our positions.

...I think I have said just a tiny bit on the subject of the rating system so wont go drama queen on all that...

...But as for the top 5, it is being addressed... I personally hope that whatever new system they come up with will not be shared with all of us... The only way to manipulate any system is to know how it works...

...As far as the showcases go, I never thought of them having a top 5... More of a fun little side track... But I guess since they are only sortable by the same outdated rating system they sorta do...

...Perhaps they should have them sorted by most recent with optional sortable drop down boxes like they do in the main gallery. That would take the illusion of them having a "top #" out of peoples heads...

That's a good idea matthew. Since there isn't actually a Top 5 for showcases I wonder why they didn't have it sorted that way anyways. It might alleviate some of the hurt feelings that have been caused.

What a wonderfully simple solution -- just let us do sorting in Showcase, same as we can in gallery!

I agree with Matthew about details of a new system not being shared. Thanks for telling me that the Showcase doesn't have a Top 5, I didn't know that since I have only been here a short while. I guess it is just a list with scores then?

Matthew said, "Top 5 is being addressed". Well my problem with all this is that I am addicted to this site but I am in way over my head stress wise and this is just starting to be addressed, it may take awhile. I'm at a lost of how to stay updated on people I now care about and seeing their work if I don't come here for awhile. If anyone has any ideas let me know I can't keep doing this to myself. I would have no problem with Rachel deleting this whole thing except or my comment here and still keeping the title, "This is so sick", because it isn't right that I keep doing this to myself. I am posting this because I need help.

So if anyone has any ideas on how I can stay updated but not be so involved let me know.

I started a new topic thread so I can ask for ideas there instead.

Dmarla you need to take a step back and focus on what you have achieved since joining:
If you go to the gallery and use the search feature for all and most ratings, you will find yourself on the first page in faces and in candy.

Think of the other wannabees to aspire to reach that first page... and it doesn't stop there:

Look up highest ratings and you will find yourself on the first page in animals and no less than FIVE PICS on the first page in faces - one of whch leads the category! It has 24 votes of solid 5's!

You are also on the first page in the machines and in the valentines showcases. Oh, and also in the January Top 5 for faces.

Now, you say you haven't been here long, but that's a list of credits that many of the other nearly 4000 Thinkdrawers could only envy. Maybe you just need to accept what you have, like the rest of us and enjoy it.

... Then do the hokie pokie & turn yourself about...

... Just in case... I mean... What if that ..IS.. what it's all about...

I find I don't even pay all that much attention to the Top Rated pics, I go to most ratings instead. I think it has a much more accurate list of standings as far as I'm concerned. I don't really expect to see my pic's in the Top 5 because there are just so many outstanding artists on this site. This does surprise me a little as I'm a very competitive person in most things, but I guess I just see so many really outstanding pics that it doesn't bother me that others get higher than me. I've never seen a picture in the Top 5 that didn't look like it belonged there so I don't feel slighted.
I guess my suggestion for how to be less invested is to just try going for a month (or even just a couple of weeks) without looking at the Highest Rated page and make an effort to not pay attention to where yours stand. Then if you get in the Top 5 it's a lovely surprise.

Thanks all. I feel what I do because I don't have energy in reserve to start with, that is it in a nut shell and that I hate seeing people at their worst. Thanks puzzler, I didn't realize I had that much listed on these pages; the reason is that it not of top value to me to be on Top 5 or be on first page. I just wanted to come here to lessen my stress period and so the social part of it.
