I'd like to vote and comment without having to submit twice! I sometimes forget to vote at all because I can't seem to remember to vote, submit, comment, submit.
Seems simple, I know, but I'm naturally blonde so, you know, Please Speak Slowly.....

Ron, while you are doing your mathematical testing, will you please try out your suggestion, made on 5th Feb in "A different idea for top 5", also supported by Rachel, me and others ... I quote ... "NO RATINGS! Except a single button named "I Like It" or somesuch. People that don't like it won't vote. People who do will. No chance whatsoever for blitzers or onesees or twosees. In the end it's just a simple count of "I Like It" votes. What could possibly be more fair?"
The same suggestion came up again in Force Comment to Allow Vote on 6th Feb. Has anyone come up with a reason why this would not work. It is so simple and cannot be tampered with (other than people's friends and family all voting for them out of loyalty). I am convinced the Vote/No Vote is the simple answer and, linked directly to the comments box, it is all done in one simple action.
Can you put that to the mathematical test or is it so simple and near foolproof as to defy mathematical testing?

Folks - it's just one of many ideas we've all been floating.

I'm leaning towards Matthew's idea of every picture getting a deafult vote of 1 when submitted (it needn't even be seen - just calculated).

But I still would like to run it through some test data to see the actual result.

The idea I floated here is to allow existing voting but to REQUIRE a comment when you do vote. That way the blitzers would have to reveal themselves. This would do away with nothing current except the anonymity which ir, really, what allows the blitzers to exist at all.

I do not mind low votes. I just don't want them out of malice and I would appreciate comments even from low or no voters.
