I chose self-portraits simply because it is such a challenge. Unlike when I copy Van Gogh, there is nothing to steal. The interpretation of a great master isn't available that looks like me. It has to be more honest and unique. That's why I did it.
I mention this because my students are asking if this is my version of posting several "selfies". The answer is "no". I just like challenges and authentic work.
