Found this the other day in the trash! You pull the handle back and forth to push the bike forward. Can't find information on this. It is a child's 4 wheel bike of some kind.

The only thing I've ever seen like it is a very early invalid chair. The occupant pushed and pulled the lever to operate it. 'Never seen this toy ... excellent illustration. It looks as though you've drawn it in the rain.

Thanks. You said you saw a chair like this, very interesting, did it have the same kind of seat? I would think that with this toy that someone would have to be very able bodied to work it sitting in the seat that it has.

I get the idea (and seem to remember seeing something like this ages ago) - but can't think how to look it up - are you sure it wasn't a home-made invention ?

no idea, looks like some kind of go-cart. a good picture.

Thanks you twol. Marg it isn't home-made that I can see especially with the brand name stamped on the hubcaps saying PandS. There was a lot of very old things being tossed out in our flatbed setup for annual trash.

I got a lovely pitcher/vase. My neighbor got a vintage camera and many other things. I also pick up a new sweater machine still in box.

No DM, if you imagine a chair where the seat is, then that is basically what the old invalid chair looked like. I've never seen anything like this toy before.

Oh OK. Did you look at the site page I listed, mine is a bit like that one?

wow, DM... that's a little treasure (and your drawing is beautiful!) but I'm not at all sure it's actually Garton. Have a look here: www.tricyclefetish.com

If the antique road show comes near by I may bring it in. Just think my neighbor saw this before me but thought it wasn't worth picking up because one of the wheels is bent a bit. Thanks for the sites.

y'know, it could still turn out to be nothing of monetary worth, but that hand-car style mechanism is rare and fascinating. I like your Antiques Road Show idea.

I know it is worth something because I saw the 1930 catalog page with one something like it. I tried riding it and it went backwards most of the time because it need to be oiled. I haven't done anything with it yet - cleaned it and oiled it that is. Th
