Ok folks, my schedule's been a right wreck y'day and today, so although I've popped in several times I haven't been able to properly sort out the results here. I'm going to ask for your indulgence and hold it open another day -- enjoy!

I *will* officially hand off the hosting baton cuz I do like it when we have a couple challenge theme-options going on in the forums besides the Showcase theme.

And then you all will have to decide if Login kinda gets her wish... you want to continue this as the "Collection"... or open a new one.

Myself, I tend to think it'd be a pity not to keep referencing back to the collection so well begun here.

Either way, I agree that this new technique is growing into something as valid as a new palette...

Q (about to go spend a bunch of hours dealing w/ RL stuff...)

Ok you sweet patient people, here's the score---

If I've got my count right, at this point 26 of us have waltzed through this thread, contributing at LEAST some commentary (often quite helpful and always a joy!), and 23 TD-ers produced 44 unique new pictures ..PLUS a goodly number of intriguing variations by assembling the bits in different order (and not always only on their own pieces)!

This one grew waaaay too complex for me to show every single piece in a single posting, but I'd like to honor each of you for the amazing breadth of what you brought to this little experiment. It turned out to be truly ground-breaking.

Meanwhile, that baton?

…nodnod…. heckuva choice to have to make… but remember, challenges are hosted by whim, not “judgment”…

……..so I’m passing it

………….with admiration and sympathy –

………………..and in expectation of a fertile imagination’s nudge to us all in the new Cheallenge XLIV --

………………………to clorophilla (smiles)

Thanks for playing, folks!

Inked_Gemini's and Login's and my own sincere wish is that new pieces created in this joined structure STILL get added to THIS thread.

It really is THE foundational "Collection" to refer back to.

…..and if I’ve screwed anything up, I know you’ll let me know.. ;>

Thank you Qsilv to suggest this thread! It was so much fun to participate and watch all the talented pics here. Congratulations to clorophilla!!! The "man of the moons" have stuck with my mind and comforted me since then. Congrats to all who participated to this! I love TD'ers!

Thank you Q for this challenge! The participation was amazing and the pic so gorgeous, I hope this thread will be mantained open and begin a permanent collection for extended pics!

About the next challenge, I have some idea, give me the time to refine it!

Thanks, Q, for this challenge! It was amazing to see everybody's ideas and beautiful pictures with this new concept. I too, hope that this thread will continue to be added to...

... and how fitting that clorophilla, who started it all with her magnificent dragon, should receive the baton! Congrats, clorophilla!

Yes, a just reward to clorophilla for the idea. Thanks for allowing it to run on, Q. You did a neat job of summarising, too.
