Ernie

Ok, so I thought I would start an introduce yourself one. My name is Rachel, I live in Sydney, Australia. Well, "greater Sydney", which isn't really that great, cos it's about an hour's drive west of any sort of coastal breeze that might help the heat and humidity! YAY!
I am a 28 year old preschool teacher. I love my job, it's what I have always wanted to do. This year I have been given the added challenge of running the centre I work at, as the director has taken 12 months off to look after her new baby she had over xmas. So that should keep me busy!!
I am creative in my mind, but about as creative as a brick when it comes to getting what is in my mind out into the real world.
Thats about it. Oh, and, Ernie is my dog. That's where the nick came from. What about you???

ok I'm next. I'm Steven and my home is up in the rural Northwestern corner of Rhode Island. I was raised a city boy so this area still amazes me. I've got neighbors with horses and goats, chicken, Lord knows what else, Blueberry farms, apple orchards, fields of corn and pumpkins.
I've been a cook, a baker, a stone wall builder, a beekeeper and a backroom associate at a Big Box store hauling and stacking big cartons all day long.

I'm an avid reader of obscure books and know far too much about things that nobody pays much attention to. Electronics completely confuse me and at the moment do not even know how to turn on the television set anymore. We got a digital converter and the TV now requires 3 remotes and it is now far beyond my comprehension.
Typing requires that my eyes be on the keyboard, I use 2 fingers at most.

I have 2 adult children, my daughter lives not far from here with her mother, my son lives in California with his beautiful fiance, who will become my beautiful daughter-in-law next month.
My partner and I will fly out for the wedding.

This site is amazing, it's been so much fun right from the beginning

I'm Christie and I am currently living just outside of Denver, Colorado. I love the mountains here - they are gorgeous! Every day, I have the privilege of waking up to see them. I grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia so I do miss the beach. After graduating college in Virginia, I moved to Miami, Florida and spent a year of voluntary service working with the homeless population there. It was an amazing experience and I wouldn't have traded it for the world. From Miami, I moved to Denver to work in the National Office for the organization I had just served through. I am still working there, but have decided that I need to take further steps to advance my career. I'd like to go back to school and get my Master's of Arts in Counseling so that I can become a counselor. I would really like to work with adolescent females.

I'm engaged to my wonderful fiance, Kevin. We met in college and have been dating for almost four years. We will be married in Virginia this October (2009).

I have a dog named Bayley who is an Australian Cattle Dog and Border Collie mix. She is a rescue dog and still scared of people she doesn't know.

I enjoy playing on ThinkDraw, reading, watching movies, singing, dancing, going to church, spending time with friends and family, playing with Bayley, and trying new things.

I was a little hesitant at first to write about myself on here seeing as I don't actually know any of you all, but I figure I don't really have anything to hide so... yep. That's me.

I don't have much to say. I love to dance, I play the guitar and cello, I have two dogs, some fish, and... yea.

autumn

well Hi! I'm Autumn, I'm 54 and 1/2 almost 55. (55 means a discount at the junk stores, yayyyy) I live in a small farming community, next to the little city cemetary in north Idaho, USA

I grew up in the Seattle, WA area where my near perfect adult sons still live. I am married and have about the most beautiful stepdaughter in the world, she married the love of her life last june (wish I could show you all the pics!).

I have 2 rescued kitties, a huge yellow hairy mutt, and a dachshund. I am lucky to be a stay at home mom this time around. lol.. I also have 2 granddoggers a dachshund and a siberian husky.

I love to draw and make jewelry. I like working with wire, making chains and doing chainmaille but work with beads too.

thinkdraw is sooo much fun, lately I spend more time looking at what all of you have come up with than making my own and it is the only site I have felt compelled to talk to strangers. I think you all are a hoot!

jmdx3mom

I am jmdx3mom, the better half of the marriage with matthew... well, at least the sane half. We have been married 18 years. He has all the sense of humor. I display true humor about as often as the occurrence of leap years! Our (daughter Joy2004, matthew and myself) real names have the exact same initials thus the jmdx3 part of my name. I am a stay-at-home mom. I have more responsibilities and duties now than I ever did in the working world! I also have 3 kids, 2 adult stepkids and a four year old here at home. I now claim an additional two... oldest is married and I have a beloved daughter-in-law and the middle one has a two year old, my granddaughter! Matthew and I have been responsible for getting the daughter-in-law, the middle daughter, the two little ones, and his sister and niece drawing here on TD! I am not artistic, but love to do crafts and puzzles (traditional jigsaw, crosswords and other word puzzles and sudoku). I am a lifelong serious cat-lover! Watch out Dog Whisperer, I just may become the "cat whisperer"! You know they are much better at hiding their thoughts so harder to talk to! Thank you to all of our friends here on Thinkdraw! You have given an old married couple something new to do together! Matthew and I view pics and comments together, that is, when we find a little time together!

anotherronism

Howdy.

Funny already as I never, ever say "Howdy". What IS it about the internet that makes it so easy to don alternative personalities?

I'm 43 years old. I am male. I too am from Columbia, SC (shout out to Matthew - maybe we know each other?)

I'm married but my wife and I serperated 16 years ago so I don't think it counts any more.

I'm not crazy about people. I'm no sociopath or anything like that but I had a pretty crappy childhood and probably blame ALL people for my own parent's faults.

But I'm not whining. Far from it. I wouldn't change one single thing about my past. Not one.

I am creative but I am not artistic. Yet, strangely, I am. I'm not and I know it - but I constantly surprise myself. Go figure.

I stumbled on this site. I've been racking my brain tonight trying to remember what I had searched on when I discovered it and I come up with nada, zip, nil.

I don't draw. I have in my past but never at length. Drawing is something I'm "decent" at but I find it exhausting and just plain boring.

I much prefer computers and "instant gratification". Digital cameras, photography, video - all of that I consider my baliwick (sp?).

I live in Maryland and last week I was up so late the sun came out. I looked outside and it was a beautiful sunrise. I quickly gathered up my digital camera and a tripod and put the thing on full-manual and used a remote to take one picture of the sunrise every fifteen seconds for two hours. I don't think I've ever been so cold in my life. I had gone outside in a tee-shirt and jeans and couldn't leave the project long enough to get properly dressed. I couldn't feel my toes for two days. But the result was spectacular when I kludged all the pics into my video software. Wow!

I have no idea why I've bolted myself to this site all night long now (this is my very first day here.) I guess it says something about me. The challenge here is what attracts me. Art is hard. I believe it SHOULD be. But this is really, really hard.

I'm a good guy. If you knew me you'd find that out. I have few friends but those I do have are all twenty-plus-year friends.

I smoke, I drink too much, I walked away from a lucrative career for, what? Unemployment? Yeah - I guess so.

I cannot stand people telling me what to do.

I give the best advice in the world but never listen to it myself.

I'm pretty sure I know how I'm going to die. But I am not suicidal - not at all.

I don't date. I'm not gay. But I just don't care about that most important part of life. Go figure...

I like this site. I already like Matthew and PollyEsther (sp?)

I get as much a kick out of the little kid's efforts as the best of all of your works.

I have no idea at all why this site is attractive to me.

But I CAN say this: "I wanna play too!"

Later,
Ron

Good morning!

I am Jesi, and my claim to fame is being Matthew's daughter. I have a beautiful 2-year-old little girl, who is probably cooler than anyone, ever.

I enjoy this site, but I don't think I'll ever be really good at drawing. That's just not where my creativity lies. I can draw with a pencil & paper. I love to write (hence my user name). I am really a creative person, and I love thinking outside the box, but ThinkDraw is quite a challenge for me.

On the opposite side of my personality, I love to learn. I'm a huge math nerd, and I'm currently attending college for my associates in accounting, after which I'll move on to my bachelor's and my CPA.

I think that cover's it

I am Kathy, I am having so much fun on Think Draw which I came upon just by chance. I am a retiree 18 months now and I am enjoying it. But you know sometimes I am find it boring.

I am married with one son, he is 30 years old and single. My Mom is alive and is 91 years and she lives next to me. So I take care of her a bit. She moves around and does lots of things for herself. My husband is still at work.

When i retired i took an art course from a well know artist in my country, which is Trinidad and Tobago an island in the West Indies. We are having Carnival in a few weeks and the island is going wild with parties etc. I went to one last week and I have about 3 to attend before the 23rd Feb & 24th when we have the big parade in the streets. I am really enjouing TD.

i'm mel. i play on thinkdraw when my hubby is playing his games and my little boy (13 months) is alseep. I love it! I tell all my friends about thinkdraw! I love how everyone here is so friendly. thanks for keeping things decent. it's nice to have a place on the net to come and not have to worry (too much) about what I'll see or read.

I grew up in hawaii and miss it a TON.

My little guy is the light of my life.

I love art. mostly painting with acrylics, though I'm not that great.

I'm amazed at what people create here! i try not to feel too inadequate looking at others' creations!

matthew, i wanted to ask you... I looked over your tutorial and loved it. I just have one questions. How do you decide Where you are going to start on any given picture?

16. 24 Jan 2009 12:11

matthew

Sometimes it is decided for me...
In the eye of the tiger pic, the pupil was black... since the only black I had had little purple poofy blooms with the black circle, I started there so I could cover the purple up...
I have learned from my many mistakes on other pics... If I come across a part of a pic that makes me cover over a completed part, I suck it up & go back to redo that part again later...
As I gain experience, I make fewer & fewer of those errors...
So to answer your question... Trial & error followed by more trial & error...

Hope that helps...

Hi, I am Deborah. I live in Northern Ireland on the North Antrim Coast. I will have been married 25years in July this year to y wonderful husband and have a son (almost 21) and a teen daughter who is doing GCSE coursework at the moment. I love this site already and I also love geocaching and getting away as much as possible with our caravan (a 22' tourer). My daughter is the one with the artistic talent in our family - great singing voice and can play piano and write her own stuff. We have a toy poodle called Rosie who is almost 16, completely deaf and blind in one eye - and she still thinks she is a pup! Hubby is always on his laptop and gave me his old one when he upgraded.

Dragon

Hi, I'm Lindsay. I live in Western Canada. I am a Veterinary Office Assistant and I shamelessly play on TD at work, at least on the slow days. I love reading and stick to mostly fantasy with the occasional sci-fi. I love movies and have grown ridiculously attached to our new Wii. My boyfriend (Jon) and I live in Red Deer with our 3 cats (they make an occasional appearance in my drawings)
I've been really enjoying TD and I love to see all the great art everyone comes up with.
