Actually, you have my deep admiration ZeroMerc! Most human beings I know (including the one writing this) have difficulties being as real with other people as you were with your post.

I find what you wrote to be refreshing! No, your tough moment isn't refreshing but sharing it IS!

And, I don't know a thing at all ... but, tee hee hee .... I think we ALL belong to schmuckdom! No exceptions!

Hey ZeroMerc, born in St. Joseph. Now live in Liberty.

As for feeling "epic fail at life" - I've felt that too. It's a very painful thing but as you said, it does pass. One of my problems was trying to live up to other people's ideas of success. Well, what about MY ideas? Those are the ones that should count. In a weird twist - do you know why I'm a success at life at this moment? [I say "this moment" because I could feel like a complete failure in five minutes - you never know. : )] Anyway, to answer my question - I'm a success because I have failed so much, I keep failing and I finally made peace with it ... which is a good idea because there seems to be no escape from failing, from being human.

I told my sister that I wake up each and every day PLANNING to make a lot of mistakes, and that I shall be very disappointed if I ever it make it through a whole day without making at least one mistake. She laughed, but I'm serious!!! It is such a liberation to be flawed, deeply and thoroughly flawed ... and to know that it doesn't make one bit of difference.

Oh wait - yes it does make a difference. The difference it makes is that I don't have to pretend. I'm pretty wacky and quirky and by golly, so is just about every person I know! Seems like something to celebrate!

living in liberty?? Say hi to my brother and sister-in-law would you? They live just off the square on Cannon or Canyon road (cant remember wich)

I graduated from Winnetonka... LOL

such a small small world.

I will take that advice and give it a shot.

I also think I am going to try and start walking in the mornings before work!!

Marius, you are a wealth of wisdom and I think you could be an epic success at motivational speaking, especially if you go into it assuming failure! You can't lose! I really enjoy everything you write in these forums. Just good sound advice and entertaining anecdotes!

ZeroMerc, you're no schmuck. You analysed your own feelings and shared them ... that's the most sensible thing you could do. Don't disappear into the internet ... stick around and draw. Enjoy those morning walks before work ... they will soon give you the lift you need. Welcome to this crazy, lovable, human community.

ZeroMerc, Walking is a great idea. That'll start your day with some endorphins to help you smile. Share your smile with someone else, and they will smile back. Imagine the chain of smiles that could set off, making lots of people feel better. All because you went for a walk!

PS The only one who fails is the one who stops trying.

ZeroMerc, the world IS small! Have heard of Winnetonka. Canyon or Canon road by the square?? Sure you don't mean Kansas Street? Hope your day was good. I made several mistakes today so I'm happy. : )

Robincr, I love kind words anytime! Thank you. However, please be advised that trait of saying unfortunate things is not one I've conquered! (If I've not mis-spoken on TD yet, I probably will so please forgive in advance!) Funny you mentioned public speaking: career test said to pursue corporate trainer/speaker ... or actor. Enjoyed some public speaking but it's an odd fit for introvert whose needs for quiet and alone time are nearly off the charts. (sigh and smile)

Mostblessedone ... love smile idea! Powerful!

ZeroMerc - re your family: waved in that direction today. You can tell them I said hello ... or not! If you haven't been here in a while - we finally got a movie theater, then more housing, shops, and oh horrors - a real rush hour! City leaders call this progress. That's not what I call it. : )

Are you still sick? I don't think I've ever been sick for this long.

Marg, will you help us plan a route for The Great Think Draw Train Ride. If we go to each continent, it could result in some fantastic drawings. Just get us going with a starting off point and a rough route around the world.
