Okay, Master Artists out there in TD Land. I noticed the blue in your Profile picture. I do not have it in Flowers. Also, that wonderful green in your Haunted House series. I have also seen artist using little pig faces, strawberries, blackberries, limes etc. Any reason why I don't have these selections?

Good question:

As far as the blue color, there are MANY MANY MANY different shades of blue that can be squeezed out of those 5 blue flower petals... The trick is how you LAYER them upon each other...

As for not finding pig faces etc... under the pig ear is a section that looks something like [-] [@] [+] ... (@=an arrow in a circle)...

if you click on the [@] it will change the ear to other things like pig legs & pig face... you will find the same thing in fruit to find those berries...

Bro, I do not have those colors. Do you have pink pig in Animals? Strawberries and blackberries in Fruits?? I don't. So it frustrates me when I see others using these. ):

I have never used a Mac so someone else will know the exact fix, but...

You are not seeing the bottom or right of the page... so 1st let me say... GREAT PICS!!! you are using a DRAMATICALLY reduced medium compared to the rest of us & do it well...

Think draw doesn't allow for scrolling of the page, so you must do one of 2 things...

#1 Reduce your screen resolution to fit more on it

OR

#2 Zoom out allowing more to fit on your screen

If you know how to do either of those, you will be fixed... If not, you will have to find someone that knows Macs...

That would be nice. Sometimes I see the pig on the right, but pictures are covering them. Oh, I don't have the middle symbol. I have something else. I wonder if this has anything to do with the latest 2008 Microsoft edition. I bet cha.

Off to have a family dinner... keep the questions coming...

Thanks and yup. I tried changing the resolution and nothing changed on the right side. I'm thinking because I have not updated to 2008, I think that's the latest Microsoft, I am not getting the pigs, and berries. LOL (That sounds funny. Like pigs in a blanket.) Anyway, maybe someone who has a Mac can help if they read this. Thanks for your help. It's more than TD site has done.

Matthew, I can't thank you enough for your generousity and quick reaction!
My question is about layering. I keep returning to playbacks on some pics and one of them is your "Peaceful". Amazing! How do you choose where to start? What is the best size of the element to use? Should I use zoom when drawing? Should I go into small details or ignore them; sometimes when you click on the small pic that grabs your attention it opens the bigger one that look much worse...When I do skies or water it look sort of flat, primitive. What am I doing wrong? Sorry for too many questions in one post....

Oh, Matthew - I just discovered that you answered to one of my questions before I even put it here - regarding the size of the elements. Forum & Gallery - you're all over the TDland. You are fantastic! See how many people are happy already because of your help?

***a4e4ka... a lot of the how do i know when to do what section is trial & error & the rest is just personal preference... Once you decide on which direction you need to layer your pieces in, the decision is sometimes made for you...

...In my peaceful pic, in order to get the "waves" effect, I had to use a certain blue flower pedal. That pedal had to be layered from left to right to get the white waves to show up... so for the water, I had no choice but to start from the left... I drew the waves up to the point where I expected my tree to be... the inserted my tree... then went back to the waves...
ky
...I personally do no use zoom to draw with though others swear by it... so as to that question, i would say it is personal preference...

...I don't understand the sky/water it question... could you elaberate?

Hi picasso2 - not sure this will help as I'm a mac only user but did you check the zoom control under the view menu? If you are zoomed in too far on my computer the right side of the palette disappears. Try zooming out one level. hope this is helpful and btw thanks for your comments.
