A few more Pics that I had in my Gallery. I hadn't realized how much I have enjoyed doing these "Spiral" circles. Perhaps it is the artist in me
that draws me to creating them...

mdawrcn,

he figured out a way to program the computer to draw the circle, as I recall; clever.

hanging, very clever. That makes me feel better. The precision seems unachievable and there is no playback for that pic. Interesting.

I'm loving this gallery, folks!

mdawrcn, the info you referred was from five, I think.

I'm loving it too! (mind you, I have noooo life these days... but this is pure joy to float around in for a brief few moments)

yep, mdawrcn ...as five said, anotherronism found a bit of software and was clever enough to use it well to control the placement of pixels. His explanation is around in the forum somewhere, under a sort of self-flagellating heading about cheating. Pfft... I don't consider it cheating at all.

Having said that, I'll just add that I was pretty deeply damaged as a kid by being told that one HAD to do everything the most natural way possible or it wouldn't qualify as "art". It was almost like discovering there's not really any Santa Claus or Easter Bunny to find out that the most revered artists in our pantheon of Museum gods DID use all sorts of "aids", from simple compasses to camera-obscura.

The choices of what to present and how to present it, not the tools, are the foundation of Art.

So sorry five for confusing the two of you. I don't know why I do that. Disconnect in the brain.

Yes, I agree that if it is cheating, then using a computer at all to create art is cheating. Lack of disclosure would make it cheating I suppose. Making others think it was created using the same means with which everyone else had to work, and were unable to produce the same results. I would like to read that thread and will look for it. Thanks for responses.

And hanging, I too am enjoying this challenge. Only wish I had some of your creativity when drawing circles.

I found the thread. It is on page 31 at present. Was started on 30 Apr 2009 and is a very interesting read if anyone else is interested. As for me, I agree with what someone said, I don't have the brain power or the time to figure out how to cheat. I spend way too much time here as it is and I don't think his method of cheating saved any time at all. Anyway, the whole thread is pretty entertaining.
